Hi, my name is Amber Gilliam, and I am the CEO and the Founder of NO1SPRFCT. I was born here in Los Angeles, CA but we moved around a lot when I was younger. In 2003, my mom passed away, which caused a lot of hurt and pain within our family as well as unanswered questions. Her passing didn’t stop me from trying to become a better person, I just wanted to make sure I succeeded to make her proud. After a long journey, in 2019, I graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver in CO with a BS in Chemistry and a minor in Mathematics. Although I had always known that I would have a clothing line and I came up with the name NO1SPRFCT in 2012, I didn’t take it as serious because I was still in college, wanting to make sure that I still followed that dream of becoming a Chemist. In 2020, after a health scare, I began to realize that my life had taken a turn and I was no longer able to put my life into the hands of working a full-time job. This was my wake-up call and a change for my future.
Many things factored into the creation of NO1SPRFCT, but it all began with my mom. Once I knew she was the reason behind my inspiration, I began to put my life into prospective on why it was so important. The name is self-explanatory, meaning no one walking this earth is perfect. Once I eliminated letters off the name, I saw it as pieces or parts of our lives that become missing without explanation. I allowed myself to understand that these parts shape who we are and help us to become the people we will be in the future. It helped me to realize that when we allow those pieces to damage our mentality, personality, joy, and lives, we would ultimately damage the character we were destined to create.
"Our perfection is not defined as doing everything correctly according to the world but doing everything correctly according to your life."
